Holistic Body Work
Holistic Fascia Release
Is a style of massage, however it does feel different to typical deep tissue treatment. The pressure is very deep & slow with an emphasis on breathwork. It requires active movement from the client, which creates heightened body awareness & muscle activation. Each session works on a specific anatomy train, the 1st session we would work on the front of the body, the 2nd the back & so on. The intention is to undo unhelpful postural habits & subconscious holding patterns & bring relief from chronic pain or discomfort. The experience is highly personal & can create long term stability & higher self awareness.
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds muscle, think of it as beautiful communicative web that covers our whole body. Sensory receptors for both pain & proprioception live in fascia, it is responsible for telling the brain (through the nervous system) where you are, your state of health, or if pain is present. It is stimulated by pressure, while muscles by stretch.
Postural patterns, repetitive movement habits or injury can create complicated imbalances throughout our body, both physical & emotional. The purpose of the Holistic Fascia Release method is to establish new neural pathways, which at the very least, improves body mechanics. Everyone can benefit from HFR, keeping our fascial fabric (connective tissue) healthy is critical to our bodies performance & our sense of wellbeing.
The body responds best to this method in a series of sessions, as specific anatomy trains are worked per treatment.
Until the end of 2024, I am offering your first 90 mins treatment of Holistic Fascia Release for £75 (saving £5).
Testimonials
After 1 session: "I loved the pressure, it was so relaxing that at times I almost fell asleep. I think it was because it felt like an embodied meditation, it made me completely immersed in the 'now' of the physical sensation"
After 2 sessions: "My posture feels the best it's felt in ages, I really noticed it while at work yesterday. I've somehow developed a deeper sense of how I am holding myself"
After 2 sessions: “I felt changes in temperature as you were working down the spine, which was intense, but also the pressure made me feel a relaxing surrender to the present moment. My long-term stomach issues felt better as you were working on me, even though the massage was not on the stomach. I am always aware of a discomfort in my stomach so it nice to not have this for a while.”
After 3 sessions: “My head & forehead feel light, while the rest of my body feels grounded, like I have been energetically stretched & balanced physically. I’m feeling very straight, as if a beam pole of energy is going through my centre.”
After 3 sessions: "I'm walking so gracefully this morning, my neck feels swan like! My legs feel solid & grounded".
After 5 sessions: “I found the fascial release a very profound treatment that made subtle & powerful changes to my emotional & physical wellbeing. I had five treatments & it was only after they were completed, that I realised how each one intricately connected to the next, so by the end I felt more integrated & balanced in my body-mind system. To me it went much deeper than massage, this was on another level entirely. To me it was more like a healing. I found Victoria to be a highly intuitive & professional bodyworker, always attuned to my needs”.
I am more than happy to talk further about the process & method, so please reach out you would like to hear more & we can schedule a phone consultation.
